2025 Block A
A crisp, dry white wine of 100% Chardonel with aromas of honeydew, Marcona almonds, lime, and a hint of mango.
We started making this wine in 2018, after a difficult year in the vineyard resulted in a decline of Pinot Gris grapes. We transitioned away from our traditional Pinot Grigio and ended up blending it with 50% Chardonel to make Block A, which pays homage to the location in our vineyard where we grow these grapes.
As the years have progressed, we’ve found that Pinot Gris is unfortunately just not a good fit for our site, and we’ve started to look at another white varietal to plant in its place. In 2024 we planted over an acre of Petit Manseng in Block A to blend into future vintages, but for now, the 2025 vintage remains 100% Chardonel.
The 2025 vintage has elegant aromas of honeydew, Marcona almonds, lime and a hint of mango. It would be the perfect wine to enjoy by the Lake on a warm summer's day! It has a beautifully smooth mouthfeel with pleasant acidity and is a perfect pairing for caprese salads, sweet pea risotto, or shrimp scampi.
